Liverpool‘s Cody Gakpo faces an uncertain future and has an opportunity to move to Turkey this summer.
The Netherlands international’s situation at Anfield has seen a few clubs take notice and Fenerbahçe have joined that list.
That’s according to Fanatik, who cover a report on the Istanbul club’s interest in the Liverpool player.
Liverpool man new summer target
The Yellow Canaries have improved their attack by signing Mason Greenwood and Vedat Muriqi, and making Sidiki Chérif’s stay permanent. Youngsters Adem Yeşilyurt and Amara Diouf have also arrived this summer.
Fenerbahçe want to further strengthen the left wing and AC Milan’s Rafael Leão is one of their targets.
Cody Gakpo’s name is now on their list, and Fanatik claim he is a ‘surprise’ target for the left side of attack.
The Süper Lig side have launched an initial attempt to sign the 27-year-old, but that effort wasn’t successful.
Gakpo may leave Liverpool
The newspaper’s title says the forward ‘will leave’ Liverpool and within the report, they state he is ‘expected to leave’ Anfield.
Fenerbahçe have taken notice of this, and his situation convinced them to make an approach.
The Turkish club are in for disappointment, as the player hasn’t entertained their approach. Fanatik says this information is from their journalist, Samet Çayır.
That’s because Cody Gakpo, who is likely to leave Liverpool, wants to continue in the top five European leagues. Despite this, the Turkish club won’t give up and continue to keep a close watch on his situation.
